If you're serious about getting better at your instrument, you need to take private lessons, whether it's with me or somebody else. A mentor who's invested in your growth is one of the biggest, most important parts of your game plan to play the best that you possibly can.

I love teaching privately, because I love mixing all the things I talk about in my blog with all my musical training, and finding the best possible application of it for you, specifically, right now.

With me, lessons are an hour long, $75 an hour, one lesson a week, and you pay one month at a time.  Lessons happen in Pasadena, near the intersection of the 210 and 134 freeways, or in the comfort of your home, over Skype.  I teach trombone, bass trombone, baritone, and tuba, at all levels.

Sometimes beginners ask about half-hour lessons.  I don't do half hour lessons, and I don't recommend you go looking for them.  Beginners need more guidance, not less.  Some people claim "young students can't concentrate longer than a half an hour, anyway".  I take that to be a comment about the teacher, not the student.  People have as much attention as they want to have, regardless of age.
